History of VW Electrified Cars

VW EV & Hybrid Cars Manuals PDF above the page.

VW was created in 1933.

For the production of the first car of the company, the engineering genius of the time, Ferdinand Porsche, took up. The first VW Kafer car was created in 1935 and after test trials in 1937 it was put on a serial conveyor.

To introduce the most advanced eco-technologies, already tested on production models, the concern managed to lure Martin Eberhard, one of the founders of the iconic Tesla electric car manufacturer, to work.

He was supposed to help the company create rechargeable batteries.

Finally, in 2013, the concern presented to the world its first production electric car Volkswagen e-Golf, built on the basis of the seventh generation of the model.

The eco version was created on a modular platform developed by Volkswagen's own MQB (Modularen Querbaukasten), with an all-electric power plant.

Surprisingly, apart from the electric motor, the e-Golf is not much different from its ICE counterparts, although it is riddled with hints of its uniqueness.
