The Nissan Altra EV, introduced in 1998, was a R'nessa minivan equipped with a 62 kW (82 hp) electric motor.
The power source was lithium-ion batteries, innovative for those years, which provided a power reserve of up to 190 km.
The Nissan Altra EV minivan was produced in Japan, but was intended only for experimental exploitation in the US state of California, known for its tough environmental standards.
The cars were not available for sale, but were used in corporate fleets.
A total of 200 Altra EVs were made by 2002.
