History of Acura Hybrid Cars

ACURA Hybrid Cars Manuals PDF above the page.

In the mid-1970s, after a series of oil crises, American buyers turned their attention to compact, fuel-efficient and reliable cars from Japan.

But attempts by Japanese automakers to enter the luxury segment in the North American market have been unsuccessful.

In order to break the established stereotype, in 1984 Honda, the first Japanese manufacturer, decided to start production and sales of luxury cars in the United States under a new brand - Acura.

At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the presentation of the new generation Acura NSX concept took place.

The hybrid vehicle combines a V6 petrol engine with three electric motors, an SH-AWD all-wheel drive system and a dual-clutch transmission.

Today, Acura's production program includes 6 main models that are produced in the company's factories in the United States and Canada, with the exception of the flagship executive sedan RLX, which is assembled in Japan.
